Building Immunity While Breastfeeding

After delivery one’s immune system is weak in the initial phase. That is why all across India and other countries the mother is often not allowed to leave the room and house. 

Immunity and breastfeeding 

                                     Women's immunity becomes weak in the initial phases after delivery. Because of this, all across India and some other countries, the new mothers are not allowed to leave the room and house. The major reason behind this is the existence of many infections outside, which one can easily catch. For example, catching a cough after c-section will be really painful because it can hurt the stitches and cause immense pain, delaying healing. This makes it extremely important to take care and maintain strong immunity after delivery.

Importance of the mother’s immunity during the breastfeeding phase

                                      For the newborns, breastfeeding is the major source of nutrients until they reach at least 6 months. During this period, whatever the mother eats will also be going to the baby. So, taking antibiotics is not recommended while breastfeeding, if you catch an infection.
